Pharmacist in the compounding lab at Sumter Cut Rate Drugs preparing a custom medication

One of the traits that sets Sumter Cut Rate Drugs apart from other pharmacies is our compounding laboratory. In the early 1900's all pharmacies made medications from scratch to suit an individual order from a physician or request from a patient. We are keeping that tradition alive at Sumter Cut Rate.

Four members of our pharmacy staff have attended an advanced compounding training school in Houston, Texas, to learn modern techniques and innovative ways to prepare customized medications.

If your doctor has prescribed a medication that can't be found, give us a call to see what we can do for you. In some instances, we are able to make items that have been discontinued by the pharmaceutical manufacturers.

In the Summer of 2006, we will begin construction on our new 400 sq. ft. compounding lab. We will expand our capabilities to compound and we will install a cleanroom and hood to allow us to confidently prepare sterile products.
